Can you identify causes and appropriate treatments for common GI ailments such as heartburn, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting? Because symptoms are often similar, selecting the most effective option for your patients can be challenging. The opening session of AGA’s Principles of GI for NP and PA course on upper GI disorders will provide advanced practice providers (APPs) with analysis and approaches to an array of conditions they may expect to treat.

Th course, to be held on Aug. 9-11, 2019, in Chicago, is designed to empower you with learning that will immediately grow your knowledge and ability to identify and treat GI disorders. Taught by clinical leaders from AGA and leading APPs to mirror real-life settings that lead to GI clinical success, Principles of GI for NPs and PAs is the medical industry’s premiere course for APPs. Register by June 10 and the early bird discount will save you $150.

The upper GI disorders session on Aug. 9 will guide attendees on:

    • How to approach dysphagia, H. pylori and non-ulcer dyspepsia.
    • Management options for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and Barrett’s esophagus.
    • How to address upper and lower GI bleeding and small bowel bleeding.

The course’s concentration on upper GI disorders is one of five sessions that will support APPs in their development as essential players on their practice’s patient care team.

Additional sessions will be held on diarrhea and functional disorders, liver disease, nutrition management and inflammatory bowel disease.
