Fellows & Early Career

At the core of virtually all successful and personally satisfying mentoring is a meaningful relationship with another person. AGA offers member trainees the ability to connect with prospective mentors through the AGA Mentor and Advisor Program.

AGA Mentor and Advisor Program

A benefit included for all trainee members, the AGA Mentor and Advisor Program is an online advice service that consists of more than 20 senior AGA members who have offered to provide informal mentoring to younger colleagues or those who may be contemplating a career change. Through this forum, AGA members may confidentially submit questions to a specific mentor.

Topics include:

  • Alternative careers in GI
  • Administration
  • Business of GI
  • Clinical practice
  • Getting involved in professional organizations
  • Industry
  • Private practice
  • Research
  • Teaching/academics
  • Training
  • Work/life Balance

For questions about this program or if you are interested in mentoring, please email map@gastro.org.
