The objective of this AGA Research Foundation rapid response research award is to provide funds for critical, time-sensitive and clinically relevant research intended to improve the understanding of COVID-19 pathophysiology, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and/or patient outcomes. Projects must also have relevance to gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatology or endoscopy, and should have rapid translation to and impact on COVID-19.
The recipient will be selected based on the following criteria: significance, investigator, innovation, approach, environment, relevance to the digestive system, and the overall likelihood that the project will meaningfully advance the understanding of COVID-19 pathophysiology or epidemiology, or the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or outcomes of patients with COVID-19 in the context of the digestive system. Projects demonstrating a rapid pathway to clinical utility and those with high likelihood of expanding this funding opportunity into a subsequent grant will receive priority.
A selection committee comprising members of the AGA Research Awards Panel will review the proposals and select the award recipients through an expedited review process. Award recipients will be notified no later than July 31, 2020.
The application deadline is June 10, 2020. Applications are submitted through the AGA Grants Management System. Click the “Apply Now” button to create an account and/or submit an application.
