The objective of these grants is to provide seed funding for projects that generate data leading to subsequent, more substantial grants.

The applicant audience includes early-career investigators establishing their research careers, and established investigators transitioning to new research areas.

This award provides $30,000 for one year to recipients at any career stage establishing new research projects in health and health care disparities in digestive diseases. These research grants are offered through the generosity of supporters of the AGA Giving Day Campaign to fund health disparities research. Funding for these awards is provided by AGA Research Foundation donors; Amgen Inc.; Bristol Myers Squibb; Janssen Biotech, Inc.; Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp.; and Pfizer, Inc.
