UnitedHealthcare recently announced plans to implement a new prior authorization program for many GI endoscopy procedures in June 2023. AGA quickly activated a campaign to protect our members and patients. Thank you to the hundreds who have taken action.

You’ve sent more than 880 letters outlining the dangerous impacts of this new prior auth program to United’s CEO!

We need to keep this momentum going ahead of our meeting with United later this week. Help us reach our goal of sending 1,000 letters (or more!) to United.

It’s easy to participate and takes less than 10 seconds.

Send a letter through the AGA advocacy action center.

Write United’s CEO with this customizable letter that outlines the impact of their GI endoscopy prior authorization program on gastroenterologists and their patients. Anyone can send a letter – just create an account first.

Use your voice on social media.

Choose from different social media graphics to tell United how its new GI prior authorization program will adversely affect patient care and physicians on Twitter.

Encourage your #AGAgastrosquad to get involved.

Already sent your letter and tweets? Recruit your GI colleagues to participate!

There’s no question this policy will be harmful to GI patients and delay care while adding to physicians’ already growing burden. We can’t do this without working together – take action now!
