Last week we shared about about UnitedHealthcare’s plan to require prior authorization for most GI endoscopy procedures in almost every market starting June 1, 2023.

This short-sighted, poorly designed program will delay GI patient care and add red tape for providers.

We’re going to meet with United again to advocate for you and your patients, but we need you to use your voice and tell them how this burdensome program will cause delays for high-risk individuals, deter patients from seeking treatment and exacerbate existing disparities in care, all while saddling physicians with even more paperwork.

We have new resources to help you get involved.

Use your voice on social media

Choose from different social media graphics to tell United how its prior authorization program will adversely affect patient care and physicians on Twitter.

Once you’ve tweeted, tag your #agagastrosquad and encourage them to get involved!

Send a letter through the AGA advocacy action center

Write United’s CEO with this customizable letter that outlines the impact of their GI endoscopy prior authorization program on gastroenterologists and their patients.

Take action now! It’s easy to get involved and takes less than 10 seconds. We can’t do this without you!
