AGA is proud to support women in gastroenterology by offering opportunities for career and professional development as a part of our framework to advance gender equity in gastroenterology.

To support these efforts, we’ve been bringing together women in GI across the country all year for regional workshops.

We’ve now hosted half our workshops for 2024!

The most recent workshop was held at the University of California, Los Angeles, where 50 women in academia and private practice from all career stages heard from women leaders who facilitated conversations about topics most relevant to their personal and professional development, including:

  • Negotiation in the workplace

  • Strategies for successful career transitions

  • Financial fitness

  • Wellness strategies

  • The power of advocacy and networking

Thank you to Western workshop course directors, Drs. Lin Chang, Monina Pascua and Amanda Krause for their thoughtful planning and programming, which made the weekend a success.

A special thanks to the more than 150 women in the Northeast, Midwest and West who’ve participated in this year’s regional workshops so far. We look forward to identifying more opportunities to support the growth of women in GI.
