Discover the scientific program and workshop sessions, which focus on the uniqueness of our gut microbiomes and advances in personalized approaches to modifying the gut microbiome for promoting health and mitigating disease.

The 12th Gut Microbiota for Health World Summit will take place on March 23 and 24, 2024 in Washington, D.C., USA.

This premier event is sponsored by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM), with the endorsement of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS).

A scientific committee, co-chaired by Gail Hecht, MD, MS, AGAF, (Loyola University Medical Center, USA) and Harry Sokol, MD, PhD, (Sorbonne Université, Paris, France), has put together an exciting program dedicated to “Crossing the threshold from lab to life: Clinical and dietary manipulation of the human gut microbiome for better health.” Plenary sessions and breakout workshops will explore the burgeoning horizon of applications of the microbiome to improve health. Speakers will present a range of scenarios regarding harnessing the microbiome along with logistical and regulatory hurdles to their implementation in practice.

The GMFH World Summit 2024 targets a large audience of healthcare professionals across all disciplines: physicians, dietitians, nutritionists, advanced practice providers and researchers. GMFH World Summit is a one-of-a-kind meeting curating the latest breakthroughs in gut microbiome research with a very clear objective: to translate the science in a way that it is immediately useful for physicians in conversations with their patients.

The two-day event is hybrid with in-person speakers and attendees, and a simultaneous livestream of all plenary sessions and workshops for remote attendees. Additional opportunities for engagement exist through the GMFH meeting app.

As always, we will have an outstanding international faculty participating in four plenary sessions and four workshops, dedicated to different aspects: how big data is accelerating translation of microbiome science, dietary and microbiome biomarkers in health and disease, developing microbiome therapies and synthetic biotherapeutics, personalized nutrition, bringing microbiome based products to market, and more.
