Founded in 2011, the AGA Academy of Educators is the preeminent home for GI clinical educators and practitioners interested in medical education research. We are pleased to announce two opportunities that will support the professional development of AGA members at all career stages.

Education Scholarship Group

The newly formed Education Scholarship Group is a forum for AGA members to grow their breadth and depth of knowledge surrounding GI education through networking and the sharing of community practices. During each quarterly meeting, participants will engage in dynamic discussions including a facilitated journal club and a “work-in-progress” session where participants may present and receive feedback on their own projects. Our inaugural meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 4-5 p.m. EST via Zoom. Please register here to help us prepare for this meeting; journal club materials will be distributed via email in mid-August.

Annual education microgrants

We are also accepting applications for our annual education microgrants through Friday, Sept. 15, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Four recipients will receive a $1,000 microgrant to support the development of projects related to curricular development, teaching or assessment tools, mentorship/sponsorship programs, or education research. Winners will be acknowledged on AGA’s website and will be invited to present their work at Digestive Disease Week® 2024 in Washington, D.C.
