Thanks to the generosity of our industry partners, we are pleased to introduce a new award to this year’s grants portfolio, the Fellowship-to-Faculty Transition awards.
Three awards will provide $130,000 over two years to protect 50 percent research efforts for clinical or postdoctoral fellows who are preparing for careers as independent investigators in gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatology or closely allied fields.
Clinical or translational projects must focus on the epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, treatment or patient outcomes of a digestive disease or disorder. Applicants who are physician-scientists, female or from racial/ethnic groups underrepresented in biomedical research are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicant requirements:
Must hold an MD, PhD and/or equivalent degree.
Must hold a clinical or postdoctoral fellow position at an institution in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
May not hold a commitment for a permanent faculty position prior to the start date of the award.
May not be performing exclusively basic research.
May not hold awards directly related to the proposed research from another organization.
