Starting in September 2025, the AGA Quality, Education and Training and Trainee and Early Career Committees are launching a virtual, cohort-based learning program to explore the intersection of climate change and digestive health care through the lens of QI science. This is a unique opportunity for your fellowship program to focus your QI curriculum on environmental sustainability and implement real-world changes in your institution.
- Free participation for any U.S.-based or Canadian-based GI fellowship program with at least one AGA member (team minimum: 2 fellows and 1 faculty mentor).
- Education through monthly virtual and recorded learning sessions.
- Access to leading speakers on climate change as it relates to GI.
- AGA-designed QI curriculum with didactics and exercises.
- Ongoing virtual coaching from experienced QI faculty affiliated with AGA.
- Access to curated curricular materials and readings.
- Teams must commit to attending all virtual curricular sessions.
- Virtual live monthly sessions will be held once a month in the late afternoons Tuesday to Thursday, exact dates to be confirmed. All sessions will be recorded for future access in the event this time slot conflicts with clinical or academic schedules.
- Teams must design and implement one climate change QI-focused project.
- Teams must submit an abstract to present each project at the Advancing Clinical Practice: GI-Fellow-Directed Quality-Improvement Projects session at DDW 2027. If chosen, teams must attend in person to present.
