The U.S. Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer (MSTFCRC) has updated its consensus recommendations to optimize bowel preparation quality for colonoscopy. The recommendations emphasize low-volume bowel preparation and the adjunctive use of simethicone. The authors set a “reasonable benchmark” of at least 90% for bowel preparation adequacy at individual endoscopist and endoscopy unit levels, recognizing it as a key quality measure.

MSTFCRC includes representatives from the three U.S. GI societies: AGA, ACG, and ASGE.
