Last weekend, we brought together nearly 130 AGA governing board and committee members in our nation’s capital for the second annual AGA Leadership Summit.
Our time with AGA leaders was filled with engaged participation!
On Friday night, Ellen Lukens, deputy director for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), joined AGA President Barbara Jung for a riveting fireside discussion on the “Future of Health Care,” followed by Q&A with members.
Among the new activities offered this year were the Learning and Engagement scavenger hunt. Leaders learned about AGA governance, as well as opportunities to get involved with AGA PAC, AGA journals, the GI Opportunity Fund, speakers’ bureau, and more.
Many were able to use the scavenger’s “hunt hints” to catch up with colleagues and make new connections. It was great to see all of our AGA leaders engaged and participating! Congratulations to first-time attendees Drs. Sachin Goyal and Freddy Peng for successfully identifying all of the hunt hints.
Numerous members also took part in this year wellness activity, which included sunrise yoga and meditation/breathing breaks to help our leaders release stress and increase their mental focus and alertness.
Thank you to our #AGAGastroSquad for a successful and productive weekend filled with collaboration between committees. We look forward to continuing this engaged partnership that will help shape AGA for years to come!
