Introducing our policy priorities for the 119th Congress

We’re advocating lawmakers to protect GI priorities. Join us and tell Congress to reverse cuts to Medicare payments.

With the start of the 119th Congress and a new administration, we solicited your feedback on what issues are impacting you, your patients and your work the most.

We received more than 200 responses to our policy priorities survey – thank you to everyone who took time to provide feedback! Your input is the crucial first step to better focus our advocacy priorities and protect the needs of your patients.

Our top five policy priorities for the 119th Congress:

  • Reducing prior authorization burdens

  • Securing fair reimbursement for gastroenterologists

  • Reducing patient delays caused by step therapy

  • Maintaining coverage of telehealth

  • Reducing or eliminating non-medical switching.

GI priorities are at stake – with the impending expiration of government funding on March 14 and the expiration of telehealth services on March 31, we’ve already begun to actively engage with Congress, government agencies and the administration to find solutions for the healthcare policy issues they failed to address during last Congress, such as Medicare reimbursement.

But Congress needs to hear from experts like you, too.

Get involved on behalf of GI now – tell your member of Congress to reverse the cuts to Medicare payments and learn what other issues we’re currently fighting for in the AGA Advocacy Action Center, including protecting NIH research funding, and more.
