We are pleased to offer two AGA-Takeda COVID-19 Rapid Response Research Awards for immediate use on projects related to the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and the corresponding disease COVID-19 in the context of the digestive system.

The award is intended to support research on the novel coronavirus that is time-sensitive and has the potential for rapid translation to clinical practice. Projects must also have relevance to gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatology or endoscopy. 

Two $50,000 awards are available for basic, translational or clinical research projects up to one year in duration. Applicants must:

  • Be a current AGA member.
  • Be an independent investigator at any career stage.
  • Hold an MD, PhD or equivalent degree and a full-time faculty or equivalent position at an institution in North America (U.S., Canada and Mexico).

Applications are now open through Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Award recipients will be notified no later than July 31, 2020.
