AGA’s Undergraduate Research Awards are dedicated to creating pathways for diverse GI investigators and are open to undergraduate students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in biomedical research, including racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. They provide 10-week or 10-month mentored research training experiences and can help undergraduates prepare for a successful career in GI research.
- AGA-Aman Armaan Ahmed Family SURF for Success Program
Six students will have the opportunity to perform 10 weeks of research during the summer months under the mentor of their choosing. Recipients will receive a $6,200 stipend to offset living expenses for the summer. Past recipients are welcome to apply.
- AGA-Dr. Harvey Young Education & Development Foundation’s Young Guts Scholars Program
Six students will perform 10 months of research under the mentor of their choosing. Recipients receive a $6,000 stipend, complimentary AGA student membership for three years and a travel allowance to attend Digestive Disease Week®. Past recipients are welcome to apply.
