Exciting news! AGA is partnering with the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on a new initiative that will make strides in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening, specifically in relation to healthcare quality measures for closing the referral loop for abnormal stool-based tests.

Through this partnership, AGA will work with CMSS, NCQA, and the CDC to develop new measures for follow-up of abnormal CRC screening results. This partnership is supported by funding from the CDC.

This is our first collaboration of this kind!

We’re expanding the ways we can best support you as you provide quality care for patients by participating in this multi-stakeholder advisory panel. As a part of this group, AGA and other healthcare experts will create and test proposed healthcare effectiveness data and information set (HEDIS) measures.

Our collaboration in this project will ultimately set quality metrics to improve follow-up care for patients with abnormal CRC results and strength cancer prevention and early detection efforts.
