March has been busy with colorectal cancer awareness activities, including a rally with Fight CRC which took place on the DC national mall on Wednesday, March 16. Highlights of the event included speeches from members of Congress, NCI, GIs, patient advocates and AGA Vice President of Government Affairs, Kathleen Teixeira.
The backdrop to the rally was an installation on the national mall of more than 27,000 blue flags representing the more than 27,400 people under the age of 50 estimated to be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2030. It was a call for more research, more treatment options, more funding, and more lives saved.
