AGA and more than 50 advocacy organizations joined Fight CRC in sending a letter to the American College of Physicians (ACP) urging them to reconsider their recent colorectal cancer (CRC) screening guidelines.
The GI community stands united in upholding the United States Preventive Services Task Force and U.S. Multi-Society Task Force recommendations for CRC screening starting at age 45.
“It is projected that in 2030 colorectal cancer will be the leading cause of cancer deaths in people ages 20-49. There are ample data and evidence that clearly show beginning CRC screening for average risk patients at 45 saves lives.”
