2025 Presidential Plenary: The Best of AGA

The 2025 AGA Presidential Plenary at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) is designed to highlight timely, high-impact research and the role of AGA. This year’s plenary is centered on the theme of “AGA at its Best and the Best of AGA,” showcasing the depth and breadth of AGA as it advances the science and practice of GI.

The plenary will also feature a brief address from AGA President Maria T. Abreu, MD, AGAF.

In addition to Dr. Abreu’s presidential address, Praveen Suthrum will be giving this year’s keynote presentation, “Future Innovation in GI.”

Praveen Suthrum, the keynote speaker at the 2025 AGA Tech Summit, is a renowned healthcare futurist who will discuss where GI will be in 2035.

Praveen Suthrum is an entrepreneur and healthcare futurist who co-founded NextServices, a company driving business efficiency and digital innovation for gastroenterology practices, labs, ASCs, and healthcare companies with AI-based solutions. Additionally, he is the author of The Shift: How Digital Innovation Is Irreversibly Transforming Gastroenterology and Healthcare and two other books, runs the GI Mastermind leadership program, and hosts a popular podcast called “The Scope Forward Show.”

The AGA Julius Friedenwald Recognition Award will also be presented, as well as discussions of recent journal articles on:

  • The use of Chat-GPT in post-colonoscopy rescreening.
  • The efficacy of Vonoprazan for treating heartburn in non-erosive reflux.
  • Cold versus hot snare endoscopic resection of large colorectal polyps.
