Now is your chance to gain visibility, connect with colleagues, build your CV, and help drive our organization and field forward. We need your talent — nominations for section leadership positions and AGA committee appointments are due by Sunday, Nov. 1.
What is the council?
The AGA Institute maintains a council to address the diverse needs and specialties of its members. The council is made up of elected representatives from the 13 special interest groups, or sections, within the AGA membership. It’s responsible for creating the AGA Institute’s scientific program at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW), holding events in targeted areas of practice throughout the year, and recognizing basic and clinical leaders in the field.
The council is accepting nominations from current section members for the positions of section vice chair and nominating committee member in six of its 13 sections. Brief position descriptions are available to review. If you have questions, please contact council staff.
What is a committee?
AGA’s ability to implement its strategic plan and effectively serve its members is due in large part to the work of its committees. AGA’s committee structure enables volunteer members to play an active role in the association’s decision-making process. All active members are eligible to nominate committee members. If you are self-nominating, please review AGA’s conflict of interest disclosure policy prior to applying. If you have questions, please contact the AGA National Office.
Submit your nomination(s).
We encourage you to nominate yourself or a colleague today for the positions listed above. When nominating, please consider diversity of members, such as gender, race, ethnicity and career level. Nominations must be submitted by Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, to be considered.
