Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded through Dec. 18 and will likely pass another short-term CR through the weekend to finalize negotiations on COVID-19 relief. This gives us a bit more time to contact congressional offices urging for them to address our policy priorities before lawmakers leave for the holiday recess.  

It will only take a couple of minutes to send a letter and/or tweet to your lawmaker via our Advocacy Action Center. Take action on: 

Congress is working on a year-end legislative package that aims to include COVID-19 relief, the FY21 budget, and other policy initiatives, like a fix for surprise medical billing and potentially the CRC coinsurance loophole. The Senate also introduced its companion prior authorization relief bill this week, which provides a narrow opportunity for passage in this Congress. Your outreach reassures lawmakers and staff that these priority GI issues are still impacting our profession and patients.
