Providers participating in state Medicaid programs, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and/or Medicaid/CHIP-managed care programs now have until Aug. 3 to apply for funding from the Provider Relief Fund.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is distributing approximately $15 billion to eligible physicians who have not previously received a payment from the Provider Relief Fund. The payment amount will be at least 2 percent of reported gross revenue from patient care, and the final amount will be determined based on submitted data, including the number of Medicaid patients served.
You may be eligible for the additional Medicaid and CHIP Distribution funds if you:
- Billed a state Medicaid/CHIP program and/or a Medicaid/CHIP managed care plan for health care-related services between Jan. 1, 2018, and Dec. 31, 2019.
- Provided patient care after Jan. 31, 2020.
- Were not eligible for the earlier $50 billion Provider Relief Fund general distributions for Medicare providers.
