Time is running out to nominate yourself or a colleague to work as AGA leaders. The window to serve on the AGA Governing Board and Nominating Committee will close on Oct. 1, 2022. This is your once-a-year opportunity to be considered for one of AGA’s prestigious volunteer opportunities and impact the future of GI.
We welcome volunteers who bring diversity across all dimensions, including (but not limited to) gender, race and ethnicity, geography, sexual identity, practice setting, diverse perspectives, and institution type.
AGA Governing Board
Nominations are open for the office of: (i) vice president, (ii) basic research councillor, and (iii) practice councillor. Only physician and scientist members are eligible for governing board positions, and we are looking for individuals who will bring enthusiasm, a deep commitment and experience to serve. In the video below John M. Inadomi, MD, AGAF, AGA Institute past president, shares top highlights during his board tenure and why it’s important for you to get involved in AGA leadership.
AGA Nominating Committee
Members serve for one year and are responsible for selecting future officers and councillors for the AGA/AGA Institute as well as the members who are placed on the ballot for election to the AGA Nominating Committee for the following year. Full and senior members may be considered for the nominating committee. Early career members in practice and research are encouraged to apply.
Each member may nominate one person per available board position and early career members of the nominating committee, and up to eight additional members of the nominating committee.
