To help advance the science and practice of gastroenterology primarily by providing educational leadership in topics central to the initiation, progression, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tract cancers, the AGA Institute Council Gastrointestinal Oncology section is planning an extensive program at DDW 2019.
Biofilms and Colorectal Cancer (Sp1025), led by Dr. Sears, professor of medicine at John Hopkins University in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, will discuss how bacterial biofilms, dense and adherent bacterial communities, contribute to colon cancer pathogenesis, particularly in the right colon. Her presentation is part of the The Microbiome and GI Cancer session on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in the San Diego Convention Center. View this, and more AGA sessions, in the DDW Online Planner.
