Samir Gupta, MD

A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Gupta’s expertise is in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and prevention, specifically evaluation and managing individuals with a family history of colorectal cancer.

Sunday, May 22, 4–5:30 p.m. PDT

Dr. Gupta will present proven and emerging strategies that can help address disparities in CRC screening.

Monday, May 23, 2–3:30 p.m. PDT

This presentation will cover challenges and solutions for achieving high rates of colonoscopy completion after non-colonoscopy tests.

Shanthi Srinivasan, MD, AGAF

Dr. Srinivasan is co-editor of Gastro Hep Advances, AGA's newest peer-reviewed journal. She is also the new vice chair of the AGA Institute Council Neurogastroenterology & Motility (NGM) Section.

Dr. Srinivasan, along with other AGA journal editors, will discuss best practices and tips for journal publication and answer audience questions.

Monday, May 23, 8–9:30 a.m. PDT

Dr. Srinivasan will present on how gut microbial composition and function can be used to detect and predict the course of functional GI disorders.

Jun Sun, PhD, MS, AGAF

Dr. Sun currently serves as the chair of the AGA Institute Council Microbiome and Microbial Therapy (MMT) Section and co-chair of the AGA Institute Council Basic Science Subcommittee.

Monday, May 23, 2–3:30 p.m. PDT

During Dr. Sun’s presentation, she will discuss her lab’s pioneering work in identifying the intestinal inflammation and dysfunction of microbiome in patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
