The AGA Institute maintains a council to address the diverse needs and specialties of its members. To better illustrate the following sections’ focus, the AGA Governing Board has passed two name changes:

    1. The Growth, Development & Child Health (GDCH) section is now the Pediatric Gastroenterology & Developmental Biology (PGDB) section.

    1. The Microbiome & Microbial Diseases in the Gastrointestinal Tract (MMDGT) section is now the Microbiome & Microbial Therapy (MMT) section.

Council sections are responsible for creating most of AGA’s invited speaker and original research sessions at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW), and reviewing and selecting abstracts submitted to AGA for DDW. The new name changes will better reflect each respective content area and represent their members’ research areas accurately.

If you’re a member of either section, your profile will automatically be updated. If you are not currently affiliated with AGA sections or want to update your selections, visit your My AGA profile today. You can choose up to six sections based on your scientific interests. Section affiliations are used to tailor AGA eDigest as well as other messaging.
