Calling third-year residents and first-year fellows! Applications are now open for the AGA Institute Investing in the Future: Advancing Diversity in GI program. The primary goal of this program is to excite and encourage physicians and scientists from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue a career in digestive disease and provide support to residents who are making the transition into a GI fellowship program.

Thirty applicants will be selected to attend Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2022 to participate in a special agenda, including:

  • Daily presentations.
  • Networking with a diverse group of peers and key leaders.
  • Engaging with industry.
  • Dedicated time to attend other DDW programming, including sessions, poster presentations and exhibit booths.

Eligibility

Participants will receive complimentary registration to DDW (May 21–24, 2022), and a stipend to offset the cost of travel and lodging. Applicants must be a member of an underrepresented population (as defined by the NIH) and be currently enrolled in an academic institution as a third-year medical resident or first-year GI fellow. Full eligibility requirements can be found on the application.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity — learn more and apply now. Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, and selected candidates will be notified mid-March 2022.
